HANNO LEICHTMANN . DE

Hanno Leichtmann is a sound artist, music producer, and curator. Originally rooted in improvised performance, Leichtmann dedicated his musical path
to electronic music from 1998 onwards. With his project Static, he released several albums and toured across Europe, North and South America, Japan, etc. In 2011, he released the Lost soundtrack for Christoph Schlingensief’s last film African Twin Towers. With the trio Groupshow, he has, numerous times, performed the eight-hour Andy Warhol classic Empire.

Leichtmann has been working as a sound artist since 2013, with a focus on sound archives. He received a residency from the city of Berlin in the field of New Music / Sound Art for his work Nouvelles Aventures, originally developed during the international summer courses for new music, Darmstadt. His installation Skin, Wood, Traps was developed during a residency stay in Wellington, New Zealand. In summer 2018, Leichtmann developed an installation work for the dance ensemble Sasha Waltz & Guests during a three-month stay at the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles.
